A little cute accessary for your cell phone
Little Kendo Hello Kitty!
We have had these little accessaries for cell phones in Japan for awhile. I always wanted to buy some of these as souvenirs for non-Japanese people, but a lot of non-Japanese phones do not have a little hook to tie this little accessary on.
In Japan, it is called "keitai strap". Keitai is a cell phone in Japanese. These accessaries are very popular in Japan, especially among young people. But a lot of older people have these too. There are so many kinds of keitai straps, so you can find anything basically. In fact, it it harder to find cell phones without these straps. Some cell phones even have fluffy tails!!
My sensei, Miyazaki sensei, bought this kendo Hello Kitty for my wife. Even though my wife does not do kendo, it is cute to have on her cell phone. This little kendo kitty was 400 yen, about US$4.00. It is a bit expensive for a keitai strap, but this is a kitty that does kendo, so that is why it is a bit pricey.
If you go to Japan, I suggest getting one of those cute little accessaries for your cell phone or get them for your family and friends. They are small and unique so people will like these keitai straps!
